If ESPN has to fork over $45 million every year the ACC doesn't have


a network, I do wonder how many years ESPN could go before the payment is seen as a "loss" compared to the "revenue" that ESPN could be making from the network? As long as ESPN sees the payment as being "more profitable," then it has no incentive to get a network off the ground.

Something else that could be interesting to see play out is how many years Clemson, FSU, or Louisville is willing to accept the payment in lieu of a network before someone starts to get antsy and starts to shop around for a potential new home. If the school is doing more than just window shopping, then that school will probably challenge the GoR to determine the strength/weakness of its bite.
