The GoRs we've seen are for the purpose of fulfilling a specific contract


The value of the GoR is that it lends strength to negotiating a contract. The contract holder knows what they have. But without the actual contract in hand all we can do is guess/speculate as we have for many, many months about its strength, the network, payments, etc.

Swoff's 2015 statement to Teel, referenced once again in this thread, says the ACC gets a network or increased rights fees. I'd be shocked if the contract doesn't speak to those options in some way. I also doubt that ESPN, having just made a decision not to competitively bid on a big chunk of the B1G, is willing to default on a contract with the ACC.
