UMD has to care about Football first.


The school has invested in it, but the fans don't care yet and they don't win enough. UMD didn't really have any rivals in the ACC either (football) - that had UVA, sort of - but I don't think UVA ever considered them a rival ahead of UNC or VT. Even in Bball, their rivalry with Duke and UNC was one sided - they cared about it far more than Duke or UNC did.
