I think they've agreed on a direction. I say that because


if ESPN is simply going to make the default payment, there is no reason for suspense or to put AD's in an awkward position with their constituents.

There is also little reason for ESPN to attend the AD meeting. You bring ESPN in to talk X's and O's and to help make the case for whatever they are asking of the members, whether it is contract amendments or on-site technology requirements.

If there is no tentative deal, the consultant and committee make their reports and everyone walks out pissed trying to figure out how they are going to deal with University Presidents and boosters.
