I'm not a vegan but I see a few reasons. A lot of interaction between

people revolves around food so better to know they are vegan before you make plans to go to a steak house. There's little dispute that Americans eat more meat than other countries. There are claims that if the rest of the world ate as much meat as Americans that we would need four earths to support that diet while keeping a healthy population of animals and oceans. Cows also produce large amounts of methane. Meat in moderation can be healthy but in excess not so much. Maybe they care about your health or their planets health.

My pet peeve is why do people with tongue rings feel the need to show it to me?
