That is surprising. Maybe this is what's going on...


Maybe Whit looked for a replacement coach and either a) couldn't find one he liked enough to let Mason go or b) he found the one he wants and for whatever reason can't get him until next year. Of course option b is probably not plausible since Mason could come back next year with a really good season then you really can't let him go. Eh, who knows. Gotta trust Whit, I guess. He's done good so far and you know he wants to see the baseball program succeed.
