Big week for 4 Hokies as the Mackenzie Tour's 12 event season kicks off this week. Drew Weaver, Blake Redmond, Scott Vincent and Trevor Cone will all be participating in the season opener in Vancouver. Drew Weaver is the defending champ here. I believe Redmond and Cone will be getting their first exposure to a national tour. The short term goal is to make cuts to gain higher status when the reshuffle occurs after only 4 events. The long term goal is to finish top 10 in the moneylist and get an exemption to the final stage of WCT Q School. World ranking points also at stake for Vincent to continue to make his push towards Olympic qualifying.

BDJ and JW are at Colonial CC in Fort Worth for the Dean & Deluca Invitational. JW looked pretty solid last week for about 3 rounds, but a 75 on Sunday dropped him back to a T58. Disappointing after finishing tied for the lead after Day 1. He has dropped to 117th on the FedEx Cup Standings, while BDJ continues to fall, now down to 141st. Only 3 months left in the season, so BDJ is in real danger of not securing a Tour card for next season if he doesn't start getting some results soon.

Overseas, Jurrian van der Vaart is coming off his best finish of the young ECT season, with a T4 that put him in 21st on the money list. Actually led with 6 holes or so to play but couldn't close it out. Will try to build on that momentum in the Czech Republic this week. The ultimate goal being top 15 on the moneylist to earn a European Tour card for next season.

Joey Lane advanced through local qualifying for the US Open. Sectional qualifying is on June 6th. He'll join BDJ, JW and SV, whom are all exempt to sectional qualifying based on their world rankings.
