I know Scot and he really does like recruiting out of state. Most of the VA travel teams don't carry the same cache as the out of state programs. That's just a fact we deal with in VA if you have a daughter playing travel ball. Scot recruits the big travel programs across most of the country. I am experiencing this first-hand and have actually played for teams out of state for that reason. Another factor to consider is that players in VA look at the D1 schools in VA and there are only about 7 that field a softball team where in NC, for example, they field about 13. So many kids in VA simply look out of state for opportunities. Just my $0.02
