So if ND is in a smaller division of 4 and break them into regional divisions, this could happen.

ACC North: ND, Navy, BC,and Syracuse. That's 3 games and 1 that you are already playing frequently and covers where you get the majority of your students. Most fans under rate how important that is to a President/Leader of a University.

Then you also play ACC Mid-Atlantic for two years. Let's Say Virginia, Virginia Tech, Louisville and Pittsburgh. That means 7 games, that still leaves you room for Stanford, USC etc, You end up with a much better opportunity to make the playoff. You cover a huge portion of the country every 6 years and you keep a national schedule.

The two years after that you play the same three North teams, but then you play North Carolina, Duke, NC State and Wake. The Carolina division.

Then you rotate to Georgia Tech, Clemson, FSU and Miami. ACC South.
