I hope ESPN is more successful than now in getting companies to stream-
ESPN3 is not available everywhere. TDS Telecommunications Corporation, which apparently enjoys protection from competition, serves various communities in the eastern half of the U.S, including two here is Knox County, TN with a combined population of perhaps 50,000. It does not stream ESPN3. Apparently they resist whatever ESPN fees are. They allow streaming of a lot of other stuff that is useless to me.
I do not understand the protection part of this, but I suppose it originated from the days when these local companies served rural communities with low population and needed it. Now they are a part of TDS, which is a huge outfit. Charter is here, so I could switch. They have been a poor option in the past. [Post edited by KnoxHokie at 06/17/2016 7:00PM]
