I don't think the ACC gives them that option because the


contract between the ACC and Notre Dame stipulates that Notre Dame would play so many football games against ACC school within a certain timeframe. If an ACC school decides to skip a game against Notre Dame, then I believe the ACC would be in default (contractually speaking).
