Look at what happened week 5 if you want to understand

why B1G and SEC have successful networks. B1G got the ESPN, ESPN2, AND ESPNU 12:00pm slots while also competing against two other 12pm games shown on B1G Network (Michigan at Maryland, Minnesota at Northwestern). B1G Network also had Nebraska at Illinois at 4pm. Pittsburgh at VT and Louisville at NC State got passed over by ESPN and were Raycomed12:00pm. ESPN choose to have three B1G games compete against each other on their networks and against two other B1G games on the conference network instead of throwing in one of those two ACC games which are pretty decent games by ACC standards.

SECN showed four games including two solid conference matchups.

Michigan, Nebraska, South Carolina, Miss State, A&M, and Auburn were shown on conference networks. You think fans of those schools would have a problem missing their games? Yes. Would they switch providers over not seeing their game and other conference games? Yes.
