IMO, Clemson needs to play the following every year

FSU: non-negotiable. This is the ACC's version of Bama-LSU, an annual clash of the Titans with division, conference, and national implications.

GT: just a great southern rivalry that I think most fans on both sides love.

NCSU: the textile bowl. Although NCSU hasn't been a national powerhouse, I still look forward to that game.

Clemson has a long history with WF, so there is some nostalgia with that game. I wouldn't call it a "must have".
The biggest flaw in the divisions is that Clemson and FSU have to play both BC and Syracuse every year. Sometimes I wonder if the best division setup would be old big east (+WF) - old ACC. The only necessary crossover rivalries would be VT-UVa and Miami-FSU. It would also preserve and reignite a host of traditional rivalries.
