Starting a new thread, based on the topic below. If you want to look at historic rivalries, based on # of Games Played... here is the top 5 opponents for every ACC team (ACC TEAMS IN CAPS):
Boston College (holy cross, SYRACUSE, army, temple, villanova)
Clemson (south carolina, NCSU, WAKE, GT, maryland)
Duke (UNC, WAKE, GT, NCSU, VIRGINIA)
Florida State (florida, MIAMI, VT, WAKE, NCSU)
Georgia Tech (georgia, auburn, DUKE, CLEMSON, alabama)
Louisville (cincinnati, memphis, southern miss, tulsa, kentucky)
Miami (FSU, florida, PITT, VT, BC)
North Carolina (VIRGINIA, WAKE, NCSU, DUKE, maryland)
North Carolina State (WAKE, UNC, DUKE, CLEMSON, maryland)
Pittsburgh (wvu, penn state, SYRACUSE, NOTRE DAME, navy)
Syracuse (penn state, PITT, wvu, colgate, BC)
Virginia (UNC, VT, maryland, vmi, DUKE)
Virginia Tech (VIRGINIA, vmi, w&m, wvu, richmond)
Wake Forest (NCSU, UNC, DUKE, CLEMSON, maryland)
and...
Notre Dame (navy, southern cal, purdue, michigan state, PITT)
Interesting results. Fifty-plus years of ACC membership certainly has an historical effect on the Carolina Schools and Clemson. GT still has some SEC flavor going on. VT has plenty of in state games. Schools like Miami and FSU... with much shorter histories have VT in their top 5's. BC is all northeast and Louisville... uhh... why are they here?
