IIRC, VT's defense was very highly ranked in that game. Maybe #1.


And Peter Tom Willis and company SMOKED that D. It was 41-0 early in the fourth quarter.

The 1992 Miami game in Lane was arguably that bad: 40-3 at the end of the third quarter.

At least the Canes were ranked #1 ... FSU was "only" ranked #19 in that 1989 game ... though they ended up 10-2 with a 41-17 Fiesta Bowl win over Nebraska. The '89 Noles started 0-2 and then won their last 10.
