"Both Adonis Alexander & Houshun Gaines will serve 1 yr probation and do 24 hrs community service for their marijuana charge."

"Gaines and Alexander will sign up with community corrections and be subject to random drug tests, possibly substance abuse classes."

"Gaines and Alexander both have gone through Student Conduct at Virginia Tech, and were placed on probation."

Andy Bitter adds:

"Lastly, Gaines' underage alcohol possession charge was dropped."

"No change to Alexander & Gaines' status w/#Hokies. They remain indefinitely suspended, but today's ruling likely a step toward reinstatement."
