Not sure how that will work out with Fuente as HC...

but his decision has to send a message, not only to the these two, but the entire football team.

Half a game suspension against Liberty seems a bit insignificant. Maybe 1 and half games... miss the Liberty game and half of the Tennessee game... that should be adequate. Then again messing around with the Tennessee game may be too distracting, and could lead to color commentary that would blow up in VT's face, if it is perceived as too lenient.

My guess is a full two game suspension... limiting bad press, as well as showing Fuente as a no-nonsense HC.

Honestly, how VT does against UTenn is.... relatively meaningless, and nobody expects VT to win with or without Alexander and Gaines playing. It really isn't the same situation as the USC game in 2004 (or whenever that game was played). VT had a good returning team that was ready to pull off an upset, if everything went their way. UTenn is ready to be a leader in the SEC this season... VT is still under construction. With that said... it would be great for VT to pull off the upset, but in the right way IMO.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
