My daughter is a rising freshman this year and has 5 D1 schools asking her to camps and watching her play at these showcase tournaments. She's 14!!! The pressure that goes on these girls this early to perform is too much. She just left middle school and has no idea what she wants to do when in college! It has become an obsession for my wife and I with getting her to camps in front of the coaches and paying for travel up and down the east coast. Our travel organization is also from the Richmond area and helps a good deal but it has gotten to be overwhelming. I cannot imagine having a nationally recruited child and how that would play out. Our team is made up of rising sophomore's for the most part and about half of them are being recruited to one extent or another. It's too much too soon.
