Yup, Missouri had begged the Big10 for an invite

When the Big10 didn't bite, they turned to the SEC. With the ACC and SEC fully in ESPN's control, any ACC school was (and still is, IMO) a no go for the SEC. I think that they would have loved to have a Virginia and NC school, but they were out of reach. Mizzou was willing and brought two major markets into SEC territory. I think it's telling that they were put in the SEC East, far away from who their potential rivals could have been (TAMU and Arkansas).

As far as Kansas goes, I think they could be valuable to a conference network, but would it be enough to pay for themselves?
