Interesting that the TV consultant told Swofford in 2009 ACC couldn't do it


with the demographic makeup that the ACC had in 2009. And that now with what we had along with Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Louisville, and Notre Dame the ACC is demographically made up to make it work.

Plus the dramatic improvement of ACC football since 2009 has helped along with the improvement in my mind of ACC basketball since 2009. We were only UNC and Duke back then. We have much stronger basketball today with all of these former Big East power teams.

That tells me that John Swofford wanted to do this in 2009 but couldn't. He did get the agreement put into the 2012 contract that if ESPN didn't produce a network they would raise the rights fees. Swofford has been after this network for a lot longer than people think.

Good article. It also says that VT will need to spend between $2 and $6 million for production infrastructure.
