Interesting first paragraph.


The SEC used to have 12 teams (the 10 teams pre-1992 expansion, plus Tulane and Georgia Tech), and no championship game. I'm pretty sure they handled scheduling in the way the ACC was proposing to handle their current situation- no divisions and maybe three or so permanent rivals. I imagine Georgia probably played Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Florida every year, but no one else similarly.
