Pro golf watch 7/28 - 7/31

The race for maintaining their PGA Tour cards is on hold for another week for BDJ and JW as they both sit out the PGA Championship. Both made up some ground last week, with JW jumping back into the top 125 of the FedEx Cup Standings. BDJ was in or near the top 10 up until Sunday, but ended up finishing T26, moving up to 149th in the standings.

Drew Weaver with another solid showing on the WCT last week, a T15 finish that earns him another start this week. He has made the most of his having qualified through the Monday open qualifiers a few weeks ago, and now has likely played well enough to get starts in the last 4 tournaments of the regular season. He has made cuts in his last four starts on the WCT and is up to 122nd on the moneylist. Top 75 is the primary goal to get into the playoffs for a shot at a PGA Tour card.

The Mackenzie Tour is in Edmonton, and Scott Vincent, Trevor Cone and Blake Redmond are all in the field. Vincent has dropped to 10th on the moneylist after two straight missed cuts. Cone is in 49th. Redmond still looking for his first finish in the money this season.

Jurrian van der Vaart and the ECT are in Northern Ireland, trying to bounce back from a missed cut last week. He is just outside the top 15 on the moneylist now, in 18th.

Go Hokies!
