The wife and I are going to try the Amtrak option and have booked a "Superliner Roomette" both ways for sleeping. My biggest concern is one of yours...getting back to the station after the game. Have done some research and likely will have to walk outside the one-way post game traffic pattern and catch either a taxi or pre-arranged Uber. Haven't worked that part out completely yet. Plan to take minimal luggage and understand it can be stored at the station for a fee.
