We have had a few good teams over the past 25-30 years. But this team feels different to me. It seems like in the past we have had a good basketball team as a result of one good recruiting class that has made it to their senior season. They probably had a decent run as juniors. Maybe we have a couple of other good younger players complimenting them. But mostly its one class, and we all know that after their senior season its over until the next group arrives - hopefully sooner than later, but usually later.

This time its different. We certainly have a couple of key senior leaders, but the talent is spread throughout the classes, and more talent coming in as recruits. For the first time in 30 years it feels like we have sustainable momentum. Something is actually being built. We didn't just fall into one great class.

I am excited about the upcoming basketball season. But more than that I am excited about the future of the basketball program. Wow. It is nice to be able to say that. Thanks to Buzz and the players for all the hard work.
