20 teams with 2 divisions means 9 conference games. Very doable...


Certainly committing to 9 conference games is realistic. Then, you have 4 "pods" of 5 teams each.... where the pods rotate to create different divisions every year (or every 2 years if you want home/away games back to back). Without debating the exact teams... you'd have...

VT (East)
UVA (East)
UNC (East)
NCSU (East)
Duke (East)

Division 2
WF (South)
FSU (South)
Miami (South)
Clemson (South)
GT (South)
Texas (West)
Texas Friend (West)
Texas Friend (West)
Texas Friend (West)
Texas Friend (West)


There are a few casualties such as Clemson not playing NCSU each year... but overall a 20 team conference works within the bylaws.
