Re: What should have happened

I get that we're just goofin' around with some CR ideas, but try to do it with realistic views of the other conferences needs/wants. It's far more challenging and the outcomes aren't usually as pretty as we would like.
I am appalled by the readily accepted notion that TX, or any other school joining the ACC should be permitted to bring along their relatives. But if TX could choose, it would likely be Texas Tech. How does that addition look now? ACC will be competing against the PAC and B1G for Texas. Who wins that contest?
Sooners and Cowboys to the SEC is realistic. Again there will be a bidding war for Oklahoma: SEC vs B1G.
For as long as I have been observing the phenomenon of conference realignment, I have never understood why anyone thinks the B1G would add Iowa State. It is repeatedly suggested and I don't know why. After the latest B1G media deal, it should be even more clear that to join the B1G, or any P5, the candidate school has to earn its keep. Iowa State is a fine school, with one magnificent fanbase. But they would not be an "addition" to the B1G, they would be a "subtraction." Same with UConn.
When the ACC extended the GoR, they removed their schools from the pool of targeted expansion candidates. There are three schools that are realistic targets for the B1G: Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. There are, perhaps, four for the SEC, because you could add OSU, if that were required to land Oklahoma. Who can the ACC add that increase revenue for the conference? The pool is small for the ACC as well. Are we still talking about Navy, UConn, Cincinnati? I think the ACC list is the same as the B1G's. TX, KS, OK. Ohterwise don't bother adding a school who will only drag us down.
