The only people that think that way are ones looking through a very dark pair of orange and maroon glasses with a perspective further clouded by very little understanding of the game and what Steph's skills were at that point in time. Those same folks would probably be the ones screaming the loudest that the scholarship was a waste if the risk had backfired. The reality is that Davidson was the perfect situation(timing and location) for Steph to truly develop, maximize his skills and position him to enjoy the career he now has. The foregoing is not to say that SG could not have handled the situation in a better manner but, it is hard to believe that Steph and Dell(maybe even Sonja) could now not look back with the benefit of hindsight and recognize things could not have really turned out any better for Steph's benefit.
