I know. But UConn plays in Hartford.


It didn't work out because all of the games proposed to UConn were out of state. I don't know of any state flagship school that would agree to that.

The UConn stadium is about the same size as Boston College so stadium size wouldn't have been the issue. This was one of the early negotiations by Jack Swarbrick at Notre Dame. He's been very clear that he wants Notre Dame playing in the major US markets. This was his way of getting someone to accommodate him in Boston and New York. UConn may have played along if he gave them some home games.

Jack uses the Navy game and the Shamrock Series to get to all the NFL Stadiums. I don't see any reason for bad blood with UConn for their insisting on some home games in a series.
