Rice is on the list applying for the Big XII.

They've just spent $32 million on a new sports performance center at Rice Stadium, renovated their basketball arena, and they have plans to renovate their baseball stadium. Rice is a big deal in college baseball.

Rice is the highest rated academic institution in FBS but not in the P5. They are top 20 in USN&WR academic rankings. They would bring up the ACC's average. Rice has a $5.5 billion endowment, so they can fund just about anything they want to. Houston is a big market too.

Rice could be in a package with Texas just like Tulane could. Texas likes playing football games in Houston, so sure Rice could work in that Texas division. I wouldn't want them without Texas, but if Texas pushed for Rice, fine.
