Every way I look at the stats indicates that it is not close.

Curry is a much more efficient offensive player; Iverson (early in his career) was a slightly better defensive player. Iverson had two seasons in which he shot < 40% from the floor.

Through seven seasons, Iverson had an ORating of 104 and a DRating of 103. (Higher ORatings are better; lower DRatings are better.) Curry has an ORating of 117 and a DRating of 106.

The only way to make it close is to give Iverson credit for being relied on so much by his teams--his utilization of possessions was greater. Because efficiency goes down with utilization, he may have paid a price by being forced to take so many. (The counterargument is that his teams may have been better off if he did not take as many shots as he did.)

Let's put it this way: through 7 NBA seasons, Curry is closer to Jordan than Iverson is to Curry.
