Internet provider pays ESPN for it


Part of your internet service fees go the Disney/ESPN to carry ESPN3. That is why some ISP's don't carry ESPN3 for THEIR customers. That is how ESPN is going to monetize the ACC Network Extra until the channel is launched in 2019.

That and commercials will allow ESPN to make enough to distribute to the ACC and their shareholders.
