The gap isn't sustainable. ACCN has to deliver. The AD's are all over it.

Meanwhile, Maryland is a mess. It cost them $76 million (minimum) to join the B1G. They don't pay off the $45 million loan for the BTN and get a full share until 2021. The recent B1G TV deals with Fox and ESPN run thru 2023. Think they'll also make up the $31 million ACC exit hit by then? If so, how? According to your citation, they cleared $12K last year. That doesn't go very far toward offsetting that exit payment. It would have been impressive if they were running a multi-million surplus, but they aren't. Their outside revenues are still about $15 million short of their expenditures.

Then you throw out attendance figures like Maryland is going to make a fortune off of ticket sales; but they still play at Byrd (51,000 capacity) and they still don't have many football fans.

The B1G has done a great job with their media deals...no one is debating that. But saying Maryland made a good move is not as simple as looking at a total revenue figure. Maryland (around $15 million) and Rutgers ($23 million) are two of, if not the two most heavily subsidized P5 programs. This even with their B1G earnings the last 2 years.
