Without a doubt the ACC needs to insist on ACC oriented commentators.
I've been tuning in to some of the football games. It was interesting to see Coach Al Groh doing the Tulane vs Wake Forest football game on Thursday. He's certainly familiar with the ACC given he coached at 4 different ACC schools, two of them as head coach. He as head coach at UVA and Wake Forest. He was defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech. He was an assistant coach at North Carolina and at UVA.
We will need more commentators at the ACC Network that know the ACC better. Al Groh qualifies, but they need more including soccer and baseball. Would someone like Bill Roth have interest in leaving radio to do television? I saw where he moved back east to work for IMG. He went to Syracuse before they were in the ACC, and he was radio play by play at VT for a long time. Works for me.
