Since the ACCN and the other conference networks already
have the ability to broadcast in the state of CT even though UConn is current not a member of any power conference, then market value may not be as big of deal on future expansion. The addition of UConn will not allow a conference's network to add new TV sets to its broadcasting footprint because it is already being broadcasted in every household. In terms of athletics, the product on the field may become a bigger factor on future expansion when factoring in the role streaming will play on TV viewing.
If the ACC decides to add UConn, then it is possible the BTN (or any other conference network) could be just as big (if not bigger) of a player in CT because UConn doesn't have a good football product and/or have a passionate football fanbase. Yes, UConn will enhance the ACC's product in basketball and probably ensure that the Big Ten doesn't become "King of the Basketball Conferences." However, in terms of football ACC fans (and maybe even some schools) may have buyer's remorse because the ACC got another BC instead of another Louisville.
