I hope I'm not missing the TIC on this post....

Hard at times to recognize the tone of a post on message boards but...

I've been involved with youth travel programs, AAU program(s) and tournaments all over the northeast...

While I won't deny recruiters look in at kids on all levels, I feel very confident in saying they aren't "recruiting" 6th graders. If anything they may be "encouraging" kids if and when they speak to them.

Also, if you have the ability to project P5 recruits at the 6th grade level you're a better judge of talent than about 99% of coaches and scouts involved in the game.

I could see maybe (a big maybe) 8th-9th grade trying to project where a kid may end up but even that is a HUGE longshot.

My kid was 5th grade AAU and travel player last year. He ran up some gaudy offensive numbers last year - But I am not sure I would project him as a DI anything until he gets a little older.
