It's locked down very tight with ESPN for 15 more years.


There won't be any involvement of Fox with Texas during that time other than through the Big XII contract. If Texas goes to any other conference all of the Texas rights go to ESPN. The Texas government will not try to push Texas to break this agreement no matter what happens to the Big XII when the ACC and SEC are quite viable alternatives for Texas. The only thing they may insist on is a good home for Texas Tech.

Now wierd stuff could happen like ESPN buying the PAC12 network for pennies on the dollar, or ESPN renegotiating the payment for the LHN to $5 million per year instead of $15 million per year if Texas goes to the Big Ten. With the ACC and SEC quite viable, why bother? ESPN has made the decision to invest heavily in ACC and SEC.
