Not so fast...


Here's how I understand it:
The Longhorn Network is owned by ESPN.
The UT media rights are owned by IMG (They are the "Rights Holder")
THE AGREEMENT LINKED ADDRESSES TIER THREE CONTENT ONLY:
minimum one FB game per year
eight MBB games a year
non-revenue content
archived content
If the UT/IMG rights agreement ends before the expiry of the LHN contract, ESPN gets first right of refusal to the rights currently included in the LHN contract.
If UT changes conferences or becomes independent, ESPN gets first right of refusal for the Tier 1,2 rights (assuming those rights become available). ESPN can negotiate for 60 days, then UT can make a deal with anyone else. But ESPN gets 48 hours to match the the other party's offer.
This doesn't prevent UT from moving to a Fox (B1G) conference. It gives ESPN the right to buy any Tier 1, 2 rights that might become available after the move and to retain the Tier 3 rights currently named in the LHN contract.
