In order to breakaway, tons of collaboration AND lawyers will be needed.


Not to mention political lobbying. Furthermore, I think the B1G and SEC realize the benefit in protecting the game. Football is not all that popular in particular circles and particular regions of the country. They will desire a college football presence in places like Boston and LA. They can't just say the heck with the ACC and Pac12. How many folks in Boston and LA watch OSU versus Michigan or Bama versus Auburn each year? It's a ton.

Similar to how the AFL and NFL used to compete, they will find collaboration more beneficial.
