Always fascinates me that it is so readily accepted on this board that Texas (also Notre Dame) could simply declare who will be joining the ACC with them. Can you imagine the ACC presidents bowing to them that way? No conference is that indiferent to membership. If TX said they were bringing Texas Tech, would the presidents be okay with that? How about Baylor?
Why should TX and ND have that prerogative, but not VT or NC State? Why can't Pitt just bring in Cincinnati?
ACC presidents will not give that choice to TX or ND. It would open the door for future demands. Incredibly bad precedent.
