The Buzz quote on non-conference scheduling is a little odd
He said he didn't know what the answer is on non-conference scheduling. I think the formula for optimal non-conference scheduling has been out there for several years. Avoid racking up home victories against 300+ teams because those actually hurt your rpi. So replace most of those games with 100-200 rpi teams and a couple of 50-100 rpi teams (for a better top 100 record). Then add some neutral/road games against top 50 teams (and a top 25 team if you can get it). Also helps to convince your other league members to follow the same formula so your league games are high rpi games.
