Why should they drop in the polls?
I feel like the voters have gotten more sophisticated now that the polls mean very little. Are the polls a measure of which way the wind is blowing? Or is it a reflection of where the teams should be ranked based on the season thus far? Tennessee has one loss on the road, to a top 10 team where the game was decided in overtime? Which teams should be above them? You could probably make good arguments for 2-3 teams and that's about it. Nebraska, Baylor, Boise State? I wouldn't pick any of them. Not Ole Miss, not Houston, not Miami and not us, not yet.
I don't see anything wrong with them staying put based on the teams behind them. Anyway, after Alabama, they will likely make their way south in the polls.
