I thought he was top-notch, Coach Brooks as well

I have to say I was a little anxious going into the night, particularly after some of the conversation subsequent to Buzz selecting Greg & Matt to be the player representatives for the event. Sentiments were that he hates doing that kind of thing and that was part of the reason he opted to send those guys instead of starters. He might hate that kind of event, but he was awesome the entire night. Not just for his remarks and moments on stage but he was very giving of his time and willing to take pictures and talk with folks ahead of time, gracious the entire time.

On top of that, Matt & Greg were two great kids and awesome to talk to - both extremely well mannered and I feel proud at how well they represent VT. Just a few of the things Buzz mentioned about them helping other players made it obvious that those guys mean a lot more to the program than being a couple of kids that almost never play. For example, Greg helping Ty Outlaw (his roommate) deal with his situation last year and learning to eat right/stay in shape while his exercise was restricted. It also sounds like Greg is pretty much locked in to be a GA with the program next year. They seemed genuinely happy to be there and I suspect for them, it was somewhat of a reward to have that opportunity. Well deserved considering how much they go through (boot camp/training camp, etc...) without expecting it to lead to much playing time. Greg's also from the area and his parents were in attendance. Great moment of the night when he had a chance to talk about his upbringing with his parents sitting just in front of him.

All around great event and one I would suggest attending each year. Kenny Brooks was also a much better part of the program than I expected. His personal history and connections to VT were great to hear about and I'm thrilled to have him leading the program. Support those women every chance you get!
