298 schools sponsor baseball. 60 sponsor ice hockey.

Comparing baseball with ice hockey is almost like comparing basketball with ice hockey. The scale of the sponsorship of the two sports isn't really comparable. Baseball is strong everywhere except the north. It was positive to see Boston College in this past season's baseball super regional though. The ACC has been doing well in baseball. Increased marketing will help improve baseball from a revenue stand point. It is in the spring with little competition from other college sports.

Ice Hockey and Lacrosse are the better comparison. Lacrosse is sponsored by 68 schools, roughly the same as Ice Hockey. I don't know the potential of Canadian viewers watching College Hockey in the US, but I wouldn't think it strong.
