division record is the first tiebreaker, and head-to-head sweep this the second tiebreaker. That tells you what the NFL thinks of head-to-head.

OSU finished with a better record than PSU. Using the NFL formula, PSU would have gotten the B1G championship game berth. You can't invoke part of the NFL's criteria while ignoring the single most important - overall record.

In your analysis, an OOC win over Oklahoma (the epitome of 'on the filed performance' using your words) is absolutely irrelevant. Head-to-head of course matters and I never even suggested it did not (unfair of you to suggest that I did), and I can see the argument for PSU based on that, I just do not believe it overcomes the PSU loss to Pitt.
