Maybe Washington, as they were #4 team...


It would have come down to strength of schedule. I think Washington still would have made it though, as UW and ND would have had close enough resumes that the CCG would have given UW the boost. However, if Notre Dame had many convincing victories and barely lost to Michigan, maybe they still sneak in.

The challenge is, there is LITTLE MARGIN FOR ERROR if you do not win a CCG. Penn State erred just a bit too much by losing to Pitt and getting blown out.
