They may be right about the loss of Creighton.
However, people (maybe a lot) question the legitimacy of the RPI since it appears the RPI puts more emphasis on the "name of the opponent" than the "quality of the opponent." If Wichita State wants to switch to the FBS, then the MAC may be a better home than the AAC. If Wichita State is open to joining the MAC, then maybe a package deal could be arranged to include North Dakota State (assuming it is willing to switch subdivisions. The new 14-member MAC could then look like this:
East: Buffalo, Akron, Kent St, Ohio, Miami (OH), Bowling Green, and Toledo
West: EMU, CMU, WMU, Ball St, NIU, Wichita State, and North Dakota State
I realize the AAC is better than the MAC in basketball because of UConn, Temple, Cincy, and Memphis. However, those schools are also looking to join P5 conferences. Is the rest of the AAC (Houston, SMU, UCF, USF, ECU, Tulane, and Tulsa) constantly stronger in bball and that further ahead than the MAC?
