Dulaney was pretty clear about why it was rejected.
He said Swofford wasn't forthcoming about intentions.
And it would have done away with divisions. While not ideal, it would have served the purpose of allowing for better schedules in the ACC. It's not that big a deal for you guys. Your conference schedules are filled with great games. Ours are not. We've gotta sell tickets and obtain seat donations while hosting Pitt, GT, Duke, UVA, BC, UNC regularly. As close as they are to Blacksburg, UNC, Duke, or even UVA bring less than 5K fans when they show up. You can usually pick up $20 tickets outside for any of those games.
Dulaney seems to have been alluding to the ACC wishing to allow ND access to the ACCCG while only playing 5 ACC games. Anyhow, if Swofford allowed ND access with only 5 games, I would have flipped too. ND gets enough "special" treatment from this league. [Post edited by chuckd4vt at 12/17/2016 8:31PM]
