The ACC needs to keep having the top tier win.
The five straight Orange Bowl wins and the performance of FSU and Clemson making the CFP is what keeps the ACC in the football game. As long as that continues, the ACC will be fine with football. We will never overcome the SEC as a football league only. They own that. And the Big Ten is living in the glory of 1940-1975 as a football league. The media seems to want to continue to have them live that glory. Notre Dame is living it with them.
What I'm more interested in for the ACC is creating the regional rivalries and geographic coverage that will make the ACC interesting to the geography it serves. I think Connecticut, West Virginia, Maryland, and the Pennsylvania Delaware Valley are holes in our geographic footprint that can be repaired with UConn, WVU, Navy, and Temple/Penn State. I'm not interested in New Jersey/Rutgers. I'd like to see the ACC focus in these areas if we expand.
