You are assuming the competition among the power conferences

for business side remains at the current levels. What I am suggesting is the decision to form a new association or new NCAA division level may be enough of a game changer to kill those desires. The conferences may realize that it is more profitable for them to follow the NFL model way of doing business. Something else to consider is the other decisions made that could influence competition desires. For example if the conferences decide to only compete against themselves and place a moratorium on new members, then that could lessen the desire to compete against themselves because it would be bad for business.

Also, if they are equally sharing the network monies, then there could be a desire to re-organize themselves into more regionalized conferences because it is better for business. If the desire is strong enough, then the conferences may decide to void all existing GoRs to help expedite the process. If that happens, then it is possible for Notre Dame to remain in power football and not be a member of the ACC in 2036.
