What's the problem?

If someone is willing to Sponsor and there is an audience, then why not?

It's clear they like FBS, but a hybrid approach like the Power 4 (and big 12) may benefit them.

There are some good schools in there, and parity is intense. We have lost to many of these school in recent history, but it's really no fault of their own that they are stranded in no man's land just as we were for decades.
